Use Wi-Fi and the phone that will use this eSIM. Open the installation details in My eSIM or your delivery email.
1Open SettingsSettings → Cellular / Mobile Service → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
2Load the profileScan the QR shown on another screen. On this phone, use the manual option and enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from My eSIM.
3Finish and name itFollow the prompts. Label this line sim-ple · South Africa (or your destination). Keep your usual SIM for calls and messages.
4Select data and roamingAt your destination, select sim-ple under Cellular / Mobile Data. Open that line → Data Roaming ON. Leave roaming OFF on your home SIM.
1Open SIM settingsSamsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM. Menu names vary.
2Load the profileScan the QR on another screen. On this phone, choose the manual activation option and use the details from My eSIM.
3Finish and name itFollow the prompts. In SIM settings, rename the travel SIM sim-ple · South Africa (or your destination).
4Select data and roamingAt your destination, enable sim-ple and select it for mobile data. Enable Data Roaming for that SIM. Check which SIM the roaming setting applies to.
Pro tip: name it before you need it. A destination label makes multiple travel eSIMs easy to tell apart. On iPhone, open the line → Cellular Plan Label. On Android, open the SIM and look for its name or edit icon.
Keep your home SIM data roaming off and automatic data switching off to avoid using the wrong data plan. Check your plan activation/validity rules before installing. Do not delete an installed eSIM to troubleshoot; contact support first.
At your supported destination, check these three settings for your travel eSIM.
✓Travel SIM on
Enable the sim-ple line in SIM settings.
✓Mobile data
Choose sim-ple as your data SIM, using its destination label.
✓Data roaming ON
Enable roaming on the sim-ple eSIM; leave home SIM roaming off.
Allow a moment for network registration. If needed, toggle Airplane Mode once, then recheck the selected data SIM and roaming. If still offline, use Wi-Fi to contact sim-ple support.
